In a diverse career spanning more years than he likes to admit Glenn spent 23 enjoyable years in youth work in Australia and in New Zealand. His special focus was outdoor pursuits and community service. Among the highlights of this time was an expansion of camping programs to include visual and hearing impaired children and youth. To break the monotony, he took a year off to complete a Master of Arts in 1985.
Over a period of 4 years from 1993, he completed university qualifications as a couple and family therapist and worked on a Family Care team with St John of God with behaviour-disordered children and their families. A change of pace saw him take up a position as an area sales manager for L J Hooker on the Central Coast of New South Wales. He was headed for the prestigious qualification of Captain's Club membership in less than 2 years when a more challenging opportunity interrupted his sales career.
On the way to list another property for sale in 1999, a surprise phone call came from London in which Paul asked if he would like to manage a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees funded community services program in the Balkans. The war in Kosovo had only just ended and security was an issue but he had wanted for some time to be involved in humanitarian aid. So began an association with the other two personalities that today make up the management team of Aid-IT Solutions.
After Kosovo, Paul and Lyndon followed career paths in international aid and software design respectively. Glenn became Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Avondale, a private university-level education institution in NSW. During 7 years in this role, he developed a high energy marketing and recruitment team and spear-headed an extensive program for growth throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia and North America. The enrolment had been static for a decade but doubled to 1400 during this 7 year period, moving against the trend for most other higher education institutions at that time.
Then along came Paul again with another tempting offer--to join with him and Lyndon in Aid-IT Solutions Pty Ltd, a consulting and software design company that they had formed several years before.
Glenn has highly evolved strategic planning skills and entrepreneurial flair. He is a client-focused professional with a commitment to providing superior quality services. His role within the Aid-IT management team is marketing and client services and business administration.
When not doing this he enjoys his favourite pursuits--snow skiing, boating, travelling, dining out and enjoying time with his family, and preferably all at once!
